The client journey

From First Look to Horizon.

What a financial engineer on your team looks like at its fullest, and how most businesses start: small, fixed and affordable.

One step at a time

Your accountant keeps your books right. We read them differently. We see what others miss, and tell you what to do about it. It starts with a First Look, and from there you choose how far to go.

  1. First Look

    “What do my numbers say?”

A once-off look at your books: where the money is made, where it leaks, and what it's worth.

    R3,500 once-off

  2. Snapshot

    “How did we do?”

A clear report from your books, quarterly or monthly, with three things to act on.

    From R750 a month

  3. Insight

“Where do we actually make money?”

Your books plus one more source, like quotes or sales. Profit by job, client or product, and a monthly meeting.

    From R3,500 a month

  4. Live

    “What's happening right now?”

A live dashboard, a cash forecast and time with us before big decisions.

    From R7,500 a month

  5. Horizon

    “Where are we going?”

A financial engineer on your team: views for every manager, budgets, forecasts and a plan for the year.

    From R12,000 a month

Monthly snapshot

Snapshot and Insight are built on your closed books: a clear picture of what happened, why, and what to do next.

What are management accounts?

Live view

Live and Horizon show the business as it moves, as live as your systems allow.

How this compares with a fractional CFO

Most businesses start here

A First Look: one small, fixed piece of work on the accounting reports you already have. Nothing new for your team to capture.

  1. A conversation.

    Free · 60 minutes

Online or in person, about your business and the questions you want answered. With your accountant, if they introduced us.

  2. Your First Look.

    R3,500 once-off · about 2 weeks

You send us your accounting reports, and we work through them: where the money comes from, where it goes, what stays behind, and the patterns over time. Everything you share stays confidential.

R2,000 for BNI members and clients referred by a partner practice.

  3. The readout.

    60 minutes

At least one finding with a rand value, three things to act on, and what your books can't show yet. If there's nothing worth acting on, we say so.

  4. Your next step, if you want one.

    Your choice

Usually a Snapshot, so you can see the business move and catch problems while there's time to act. Some businesses go straight to Insight or Live. We recommend one step, never a package.

Nothing you pay for is wasted.

Start a Snapshot within a month and there's no setup fee: your First Look becomes your first report.

What we need from you

Your income statement by month, balance sheets, and aged debtors and creditors. Sales by customer or product, if your system has it. Your accountant can send them.

Before anything is shared

You sign our agreement and data consent, and the First Look is paid by EFT. Monthly reports start once your books are no more than about two months behind.

Start with the whole picture

This is what it looks like when a financial engineer is part of your team. Then we take away what you don't need yet, until the price fits where your business is today.

The full service · Plan

Horizon

“Where are we going?”

From R12,000 a month

A financial engineer on your team, with the whole business in view:

  • All your key systems in one place
  • A view for every manager
  • Forecasts, scenarios and an annual budget
  • A quarterly pack for your bank or board
  • Meetings every two weeks, and a quarterly strategy session
  • 8 hours a month for your questions

Now take away what you don't need yet.

Watch it as it happens

Live

“What's happening right now?”

A live dashboard across up to three of your systems, a 13-week cash forecast, a monthly meeting with a mid-month check-in, and 4 hours a month for questions.

Leaves out: views for every manager, budgets and bank packs.

From R7,500 a month

Insight

“Where do we actually make money?”

Your books plus one more source, like quotes, sales or job cards, to show profit by job, client or product. A 60-minute meeting each month, and 2 hours a month for questions.

Snapshot

“How did we do?”

A clear report from your books, quarterly or monthly: the headline numbers, what moved and why, three things to act on, and a short call to walk you through it.

Leaves out: meetings, extra data sources and time for questions.

From R750 a month

Quarterly: R750 a month on a 12-month plan, or R3,000 per report. Monthly: R2,500 a month.

  1. Read.

    Snapshot: a report

  2. Talk.

    Insight: a monthly meeting

  3. Watch.

    Live: as it happens

  4. Plan.

    Horizon: with your team

Move up when the business needs it. Step down when it doesn't.

Moving up has a once-off setup fee, quoted with your new monthly fee. Stepping down takes a month's notice, and anything we've built keeps running. Every report shows the value we've found for you this year.

Every fee is quoted for your business. Konzult Analytics is not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to any fee.

Which level fits?

Listen for what you're asking.

“I made a profit, so where's the money?”

Snapshot

“Which jobs, clients or products actually make us money?”

Insight

“We're busy but always short of cash, and a big decision is coming.”

Live

“The bank, the board or the family wants proper reporting.”

Horizon

Your First Look shows which one fits. We'll recommend it, and you decide.

When we find a ceiling, we help you remove it

Many businesses stall at Stage 3, where one engine (Demand, Delivery or Direction) holds the other two back. When the same ceiling keeps showing up in your reports, we plan how to remove it and build it with you, at whatever level you're on.

The plan

The Map

Every ceiling holding the business back, and every opportunity it isn't using yet, with what each is worth and the plan to act on it. The plan is yours either way.

From R7,500, by business size. Counts toward your first project within three months.

The work

Projects

Whatever the Map calls for: a system, a dashboard, written procedures, a pricing exercise. Once it's built, we keep it running.

Quoted per project.

The extras

Extra work

Anything outside your level, like a one-off pricing review, is quoted and agreed before we start. No surprise invoices.

Quoted upfront.

Three ways to pay for a project

  1. Pay once.

One invoice. The lowest total cost.

  2. Spread it.

A 30% deposit, then the rest inside your monthly fee. Then it drops back, and it's yours.

  3. Include it.

A 30% deposit, then a small permanent increase for upgrades and support. Buy it out any time.

Four promises

  1. Fully confidential.

Your numbers are seen only by the people working on them. Nothing you share is discussed with anyone else, inside BNI or out.

  2. One fixed monthly fee.

You know what you pay every month. Anything extra is quoted and agreed first.

  3. What you pay counts forward.

Your First Look becomes your first report, and the Map counts toward your first project.

  4. Step down any time.

With a month's notice, move to a lighter level. Anything you're paying off carries on, and nothing we built gets switched off.

Questions owners ask

Do we need to prepare anything?
No. The First Look works from your existing accounting data, and there's nothing new for your team to capture.
Which accounting systems do you work with?
QuickBooks, Xero and Sage, through their standard reports.
Will you replace my accountant?
No. We work alongside your accountant, and we never give accounting or tax advice.
Who owns the data?
You do. We only work with it once you've given consent, and if you leave, your data and documented processes go with you at no charge.

A note on how many we take on

We keep the number of businesses we work with at any one time deliberately limited. This only works if we're genuinely part of your team, and that puts a real ceiling on how many we can carry properly at once.

The first step is a 60-minute conversation.

Ask your accountant to set it up, or contact us directly.
